Sayings of the Prophet ﷺ

The Believer's Affair Is All Good

Suhaib reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "Strange are the ways of a believer for there is good in every affair of his and this is not the case with anyone else except in the case of a believer for if he has an occasion to feel delight, he thanks (God), thus there is a good for him in it, and if he gets into trouble and shows resignation (and endures it patiently), there is a good for him in it."

Sickness is Expiation for Sins

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri and Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that."

On Being Grateful and Hopeful

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Look at those below you and do not look at those above you, lest you belittle the favors of Allah.”

Strive without Overburdening Yourself

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded; and gain strength by worshipping in the mornings, the afternoons, and during the last hours of the nights."

To Invoke Allah at a Time of Distress

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to say at a time of distress, "La ilaha illal-lahu Rabbul-l-'arsh il-'azim, La ilaha illallahu Rabbu-s-samawati wa Rabbu-l-ard, Rabbu-l-'arsh-il-Karim." "There is no god except Allah, the Most Great, the Most Forbearing. There is no god except Allah, the Lord of the Magnificent Throne. There is no god except Allah, the Lord of the Heavens, the Lord of the Earth, and the Lord of the Generous Throne."

What is purification of the soul?

Abdullah ibn Mu’awiyah reported: A man said, “What is purification of the soul?” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “That one knows Allah Almighty is with him wherever he is.”

Whoever Relieves a Believer

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who alleviates the suffering of a brother out of the sufferings of the world, Allah would alleviate his suffering from the sufferings of the Day of Resurrection, and he who finds relief for one who is hard-pressed, Allah would make things easy for him in the Hereafter, and he who conceals (the faults) of a Muslim, Allah would conceal his faults in the world and in the Hereafter.

Hope in Allah's Mercy

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Allah has one hundred mercies, out of which He has sent down only one for jinn, mankind, animals and insects, through which they love one another and have compassion for one another; and through it, wild animals care for their young. Allah has retained ninety-nine mercies to deal kindly with His slaves on the Day of Resurrection."
